Hey Havainatico! The much anticipated flip-flops customization event is back. This year has a big twist. Havaianas will take us to the largest country in Latin America (drum rolls) – Brazil!
My journey to Brazil started upon the arrival of the invite hand-carried by Spruce at my work place. Wow! Such a sweet gesture! I took the big box and opened it inside the office. Wow! A headdress, a sign that they will be taking us to Brazil!
Bem-vindo Ao Brasil! (Welcome to Brazil!)
I arrived at the vibrant Spruce Limketkai Center, home of this year’s Make Your Own Havaianas in CDO. The guests were welcomed by the Spruce staff and guided me towards the store where my adventure begins. Before we start the adventure, here’s a special shout out to Itos, Lai, Fourth, Paola Pilapil and DJ RB. Glad to see you guys!
Vibrant Choice
I must say that I am more into safe colors, dark (boring for others) and not neon. But I realized life could be boring if we continue to be on the safe side. Choosing from the wide variety is a big dilemma for me. I’m super glad that Spruce made it simpler for the Havainaticos to choose a sole, a strap and pins.
Truly, I love the commemorative sole. It’s daring, it’s flamboyant. It’s fun. Next step is choosing the strap to compliment the sole. Of course, a pair of flip-flops wouldn’t be complete without it (LOL). The store staffs were really accommodating. If I may add, they have their say and they can recommend what suits you. Flash a smile at them before asking an opinion; they don’t bite. I selected the neon green. The limited Cagayan de Oro pin was also available. So I took it. Of course, I’m a proud Kagayanon. I also paired it with the “I Love Rio” Pin.
Now, Off to Assemble the Havaianas Pair!
This MYOH is more exciting as I know the person who will assemble my flip-flops. Introducing the blogger behind The Chubby Buddy James Tubeo, a nursing student and a proud member of the CDO Bloggers, Inc. We already had prior text conversation and I choose him to assemble my pair.
James took all the materials needed first prior to him assembling it. One thing is for sure, they were trained to assemble the flip-flops. Kewl! To add, he also educated me about some Brazil stuff before heading to the cashier. Thanks James! That was a Brazil 101.
[If you get the commemorative sole, a surprise awaits you (wink).]
We’ll they surely took me to Brazil! It was such a fun event to see people juicing out their creativity to put up a pair of Havaianas. Make Your Own Havaianas 2014 in CDO starts May 15 and ends on May 20. Go to Spruce Limketkai Center – East Wing/Ground Floor and make the best pair out there!
